The first Gems & Treasures Expo — the Akron Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show — ran Friday July 10 through Sunday July 12, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn.

Is the Gems & Treasures Expo coming back to Akron?

Akron is where we started, and we’d love to return. Our next city and dates are being finalized now — join the email list and you’ll be the first to know if the Expo heads back to Northeast Ohio.

How much did it cost to attend?

Admission was completely FREE for every visitor, every day — and it always will be, in every city we visit.

What was at the Akron show?

Rough and polished gemstones, crystal clusters, geodes, fossils, meteorites and handcrafted jewelry from dealers across the country — plus geode cracking, a Junior Geologist treasure hunt, a fossil ID station and a microscope discovery bar for kids.

At the DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn, 3180 W Market St, Akron, OH 44333, with free on-site parking and full ADA access.

What Happened in Akron

Our inaugural show brought gem, mineral, fossil and jewelry dealers from across the country under one roof in Northeast Ohio — three days of geode cracking, Junior Geologists, and first-time collectors leaving with their first specimen.
